Using Colmap for Gaussian Splatting
One of the interesting things about Gaussian splatting is it relies on Structure-From-Motion using Colmap. So, I thought I'd give that a try. I built it on my Razer Blade 15 2020 with an Intel Core i7-10750h and an RTX-2060 mobile GPU. I wasn't sure how long it would take, and it seemed to be pretty slow, so I downloaded the Windows (with CUDA) version and it took over an hour on the example data "garrett-hall." I used "Automatic Reconstruction" with default settings through the GUI. It generates a ply file. Looks pretty good:

When I tried running the dataset through gaussian-splatting it said it needs a colmap dataset with a SIMPLE_PINHOLE or PINHOLE camera. Gotta figure that out next.
